If this is not the case, then you can't actually click the "Press Enter to send" checkbox in the composebox (or anything in the space occupied by where the popup will go). This actually is not a perfect solution because that area still remains unclickable for anything else. (In particular, for example, scroll a message's "Info" link and then try to click on it -- you can't! The click is captured by the #notifications-area div.) http://www.vinylfox.com/forwarding-mouse-events-through-layers/ proposes an alternative more general way of dealing with this, but it seems like a real pain.
